Sweet Home by Tillie Cole - Review

At age of twenty, Molly Shakespeare knows a lot.
She knows Descartes and Kant.

She knows academia and Oxford.

She knows that the people who love you leave you.

She knows how to be alone.

But when Molly leaves England's grey skies behind to start a new life at the University of Alabama, she finds that she has a lot to learn — she didn't know a summer could be so hot, she didn't know students could be so intimidating, and she certainly didn't know just how much the folks of Alabama love their football.

When a chance encounter with notorious star quarterback, Romeo Prince, leaves her unable to think of anything but his chocolate-brown eyes, dirty-blond hair and perfect physique, Molly soon realises that her quiet, solitary life is about to dramatically change forever...

Review

I have to honest, i was expecting to read that typical quarterback story, but I was happily surprised.
This book it's so magnificent. There's no way that the story cannot touch you. It's about two people finding what they never expected in each other.
Molly Shakespeare is a young woman that lost all her faith in love, because the people who love you leave you. She lost more than she can take. One by one, the people that were important to her started to leave. First her mom, then her dad and last her grandma. So she decided to put away her feelings and not get close to people.
Everything changes when she moves from rainy London to sunny Alabama. There she mets Romeo "Bullet" Prince, the famous quarterback.
Rome reputation follows him, the player that gets every girl, but appearances aren't always truthful.
Rome story, in my opinion, is even more dreadful than Molly. It's impossible not love him. His childhood was horrible. the way his parents treat him, with so much hate. And even with so much hate around him, he turn out to be such an amazing guy, loving with so much force. The way he loves Molly, so fully, so passionately brigs tear to my eyes and makes me love him even more (who wouldn't right? d:)
Molly and Rome love is so touching and heartbreaking at the same time. It's their love that makes them heal and start a future together.
Together they gonna confront their demons and hope they can win.

A quote from the book, to show how impossible is not to love Rome.

“A small smile transformed his normally hardened features and he took my hand and ran it across his ribs. "Are they all there?"
I frowned. "What?"
"My ribs. Is there one missin'?
My hand smoothed up and down his sides. "Okay, I think you've lost it. You think you're missing a rib?"
He exhaled a quiet laugh. "Just thought God took one of mine when he made you.”
